James Stuber

Concert II, 2026-2027 Season

James Stuber is a cellist and student at Bowdoin College. He currently studies with Julia Lichten, and his former teachers include Nancy Green and Jonathan Kramer. As a soloist, James has performed with the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra and the Hamden Symphony Orchestra. He has also received honors from the Connecticut and North Carolina divisions of the Music Teachers National Association competition.

James is currently a member of the Bowdoin Symphony Orchestra and previously served as principal cellist of the Choate Rosemary Hall Orchestra. Over the summers, he has furthered his musical training at the Eastman Cello Institute, International Cello Institute, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and Philadelphia International Music Festival. He has also participated in masterclasses with cellists including Alan Harris, Johannes Moser, Amir Eldan, Christopher Costanza, and Emanuel Gruber.
