Rohan Smith Previews the 2020-21 Season
In a video message to orchestra members, conductor Rohan Smith yesterday announced highlights of MSO's next season:
- Pianist George Lopez, who was scheduled to perform with us next month, will instead be guest soloist in our October 2020 concert, an All-Beethoven program.
- The winner of this year's Judith Elser Concerto Competition will be guest soloist for our January 2021 concerts, which will also feature works by Lilya Ugay (rescheduled from May 2020) and MSO's own Philip Carlsen.
- The March program will feature popular guest artist Wayne du Maine returning in a triple play: conductor, piano soloist AND trumpet soloist!
- In May 2021 we'll be very pleased to perform Mahler's 5th Symphony with guest conductor Jinwook Park, rescheduled from this abbreviated season.
