Program change for Midcoast Symphony's March concerts

Posted: 1/1/15

Happy New Year to all!

The 25th Anniversary season of the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra continues with concerts in January, March and May.

A schedule conflict for Guest Conductor Janna Hymes has led to the following changes to the program for our March concerts. Yoichi Udagawa will return to the podium as Guest Conductor. In previous engagements Udagawa proved a huge favorite of Midcoast Symphony musicians and audiences alike. We are delighted to play with him again, and grateful that he will step in mid-season.

There will also be one change in the program.  In place of the originally-planned Swan Lake Suite (Tchaikovsky, Op. 20), Maestro Udagawa has programmed Mendelssohn's popular Violin Concerto in E Minor (Op. 64.) Rising star Tessa Lark will join us as Violin Soloist for that work.

The March concerts will be performed at Lewiston's Franco center on March 14 and Topsham's Orion Performing Arts Center on March 15.
